Fire Ecology Workshop

Field trip or field/classroom hybrid format. Basics of different fire adaptations of plants, fire regimes of major vegetation types (by elevation zone) in the northern Sierra Nevada; changes in fire regimes and concurrent changes in fuels, plants and fire behavior; basics of fuel types and measurement and changes with weather; basics of fire behavior and changes with weather, fuels and topography. 2 to 4 hour field or classroom/field.
